Position Summary

We are looking for a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to provide front-line support for patients, ensuring a positive and professional experience during every interaction. This role is responsible for answering patient inquiries, assisting with scheduling, and guiding patients through their financial responsibilities. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a strong service orientation, and prior experience in a healthcare or customer service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients via phone, email, or chat.
  • Clearly explain patient financial responsibilities, including deductibles, copays, and balances.
  • Assist patients with appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling.
  • Answer general patient inquiries and route more complex issues to the appropriate department.
  • Provide support in verifying patient information and insurance details.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in the practice management/EMR system.
  • Collaborate with clinical and billing teams to resolve patient concerns promptly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in patient service, healthcare front desk, or a healthcare customer service role in a US healthcare setting.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent listening, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with EMR or practice management systems is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to insurance verification or basic billing knowledge is a plus.
  • Training in de-escalation or conflict resolution is a plus.
