What the rate includes. Every rate above is all in. It is the employee’s salary and statutory benefits, passed through at cost and itemized on your invoice, plus our flat $395 management fee. The fee covers legal employment and an HR team on the ground, recruitment, an i5 computer with dual monitors and headset, 24/7 IT support and a secure managed network, security certifications and insurance, training and quality, client success management and the Knit workforce platform. There are no setup, recruitment, workstation, exit or team transfer fees. Where the work suits it, output-based pricing is also available, built on the same transparent framework with the unit price calculation shown.
That is typically 50 to 70 percent below the fully loaded cost of the same role in the US.

Frequently asked questions
-
How much does content moderation outsourcing cost?
Sourcefit’s content moderation rates are $1,130 a month for entry level, $1,765 for mid level and $2,400 for senior moderators, per full-time employee working from home. Office-based staff add $100 a month. Each rate is all in: salary and benefits at cost plus the $395 management fee. There are no setup, recruitment or exit fees. Where the work suits it, output-based pricing is also available, built on the same transparent framework: we show how the unit price is calculated, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
-
Is the management fee added on top of these rates?
No. The fee is already inside every rate on this page and on every quote. A $1,130 rate is about $735 of salary and benefits at cost plus the $395 fee. You will never see the fee added to a rate you were quoted.
-
What is included in the monthly rate?
Legal employment and compliance with an HR team on the ground, recruitment, an i5 computer with dual monitors and headset, a 24/7 IT help desk, a secure managed network, our security certifications and insurance, training and quality, client success management and the Knit workforce platform. For office-based staff it also covers the seat, office network and utilities.
-
How quickly can Sourcefit build a content moderation team?
Most content moderation roles are recruited, interviewed and onboarded in two to three weeks. Rare language pairs can take longer. You interview and choose the moderators.
-
Who manages the team day to day?
That is your choice. Most clients manage the team directly: the moderators report to your managers and work inside your processes and tools, with Sourcefit handling employment, HR, equipment, IT and quality support behind them. If you would rather not manage day to day, our Sightline model builds an autonomous team with its own Sourcefit team lead and quality layer that delivers against agreed SLAs, while still reporting directly to you and working to your KPIs, not ours. Sightline is quoted separately.
-
Can the team work inside our existing systems?
Yes. Moderators work in your moderation platforms, admin consoles and ticketing systems, under your access rules. You keep ownership of every account, and access is revoked the day someone leaves.
-
Is content moderation outsourcing secure?
Sourcefit holds ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701 certification directly, is PCI DSS validated, has a SOC 2 report, signs HIPAA business associate agreements where needed and operates GDPR-aligned data handling. Home-based staff work on company-managed computers over a VPN with traffic routed through Cloudflare.
-
What happens if we want to bring the team in house?
The team is yours. If you decide to move them to your own entity or take them with you, they go with you. There is no transfer fee, buyout or conversion charge.
-
What moderation work can be outsourced, and what should stay with the platform?
User-generated content review, queue triage, policy enforcement, appeals and secondary review, and reporting all move to a dedicated team well, and so do the senior layers: team leads, QA analysts, policy specialists who maintain your guidelines and run calibration, and trust and safety operations managers. Policy authorship, legal and regulatory ownership and the highest-stakes escalations, such as child safety and credible threats, stay with you, with a documented path from the moderators to your trust and safety lead.
-
Fully managed moderation or dedicated moderators on my team: what is the difference, and do you offer both?
We offer both. With dedicated moderators, staff augmentation, the moderators are your employees in all but the legal sense: you own training, calibration and the daily queue, and we handle sourcing, employment, HR, equipment, security and wellbeing support, at the rates on this page. With our Sightline model, a fully managed service, Sourcefit also supplies the team leads, QA, scheduling and reporting, and the team delivers against agreed accuracy and turnaround SLAs rather than you running the queue yourself, while still reporting directly to you and working to your KPIs, not ours. Fully managed teams are quoted per engagement, since the management layer depends on queue volume, hours of coverage and the number of policies and languages. Platforms that want hands-on control of policy and quality usually choose dedicated moderators; those without a trust and safety operation of their own usually choose Sightline, and many start with one and move to the other.
-
How do you ensure moderators have the language and cultural context for our markets?
Screening goes beyond fluency to slang, humor, regional references and current events in the market, and you test candidates on your own policy examples before choosing. Rare language pairs take longer to recruit and may carry a higher salary line, which we tell you up front. English, Spanish and French are the core languages across our delivery countries, with Dutch, German, Italian and Portuguese available from South Africa.
-
How is decision accuracy measured?
Against your policy, with a QA sample of decisions scored for false positives and false negatives, calibration sessions when policies change, and a dashboard you can see. Accuracy targets of 95 percent or higher on critical decisions are a common benchmark; you set the target and Sourcefit’s training and quality team, included in the standard fee, runs the monitoring and coaching with your leads.
-
What do you do for moderator wellbeing, and what is your attrition like?
Moderators see difficult content, and a provider with no wellbeing program is a quality risk as well as a human one. Sourcefit moderators have access to exposure rotation, counseling support and the retention programs that sit behind our Great Place to Work certification. Replacement recruitment is included when someone leaves. We would rather you ask about tenure on a call than quote a figure that varies by queue.
-
How does AI fit with human moderators?
AI clears the clear-cut volume; humans handle context, borderline cases and appeals, and their decisions feed back into your classifiers. Our moderators work AI-flagged queues in your tools, and as your automation improves you need fewer people on the simple cases and more judgment on the hard ones. You decide where automation stops.
-
How do you help with the DSA, the UK Online Safety Act, COPPA and similar rules?
By working inside your systems, where removal timelines, statements of reasons and appeal records are logged, and by keeping moderators current on the rules for your markets as part of their training. Compliance ownership stays with you as the platform; our job is to make the decisions fast, consistent and documented.
-
How fast can you ramp, and can you scale for surges?
Most moderation roles are sourced and onboarded in two to three weeks. Surges are handled by adding people on the same terms, and you can scale back without penalty because there is no lock-in. For 24/7 coverage, plan on several moderators across shifts rather than one person.
