Holding space for diversity and inclusion: How Sourcefit honors Pride Month

Pride Month marks the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, which was a pivotal point for the LGBTQI+ rights movement and community. This event has impacted many people in the community and has made their voices for equality stronger over the past years. Since then, many parts of the world, including the Philippines, hold parades and events to stand with the LGBTQI+ community and allies every June.

Companies and workplaces are no exception. In the vibrant and diverse outsourcing industry, embracing employee individuality and providing a safe, inclusive workspace like Sourcefit’s isn’t just the right thing to do – it’s essential for fostering innovation, attracting top talent, and driving collective success.

Nurturing a diverse workplace

Pride Month is also a time for organizations to reflect on past inequities to find better solutions and improve safe spaces that make everyone feel accepted, included, and heard in such a radiant industry. Today, more people are striving for a fair, diverse, and safe environment not only for the community but also for all, regardless of social status, gender identity, or background.

Sourcefit prioritizes every employee’s well-being and provides support through inclusive policies and wellness programs to develop a community that is open to everyone in the workplace. Employees are also exposed to various DEI-related discussions throughout the year to instill this culture of belongingness and acceptance.

Serving with pride

As we continue our commitment to a more diverse and inclusive workplace, we organized a discussion called “Unboxed to empower: Serving with pride,” a session for new insights, personal growth, well-being, and meaningful conversations. We partnered with LoveYourself Inc., a healthcare community-based organization that supports the LGBTQI+ community and promotes self-worth. For this session of the Unboxed series, we focused on building awareness for LGBTQI+ inclusion, building empathy and respect when communicating, and helping improve DEI practices in the workplace.

Sourcefit also celebrated by organizing “Speak your Pride!”, an on-site event at the Sourcefit Philippines – Bridgetowne office, where employees express support and empower the LGBTQI+ community through heartwarming letters, stories, and appreciation. These events were held to make a positive impact individually and as a company that values self-expression, unity, and uniqueness.

Driving Inclusion Together

While Sourcefit continues its dedication to DEI, we can all do our part as individuals to make our workplace safe for all. Here’s how:

  • Bring awareness: Educating ourselves and others plays a major role in creating a safe space for the LGBTQI+ community.
  • Encourage allies: Support fellow allies to stand up to unfair or non-inclusive actions. Having an open mind during conversations can further strengthen your team and the company’s commitment to inclusivity.
  • Offer a judgment-free space: Allies can support the LGBTQI+ community by educating those with little to no knowledge of the queer community, highlighting positivity, and offering a judgment-free space.
