National Estimator

Job Summary:

As a National Estimator, you will be responsible for overseeing the cost estimates for potential projects throughout the country. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Work Onsite - Quezon City | Either Eastwood or Bridgetowne
  • Monday to Friday | 7 AM to 4 PM Manila Time

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and review plans and specifications to prepare accurate estimates with the necessary level of
    detail for all design stages (Budgetary, DD, CD, GMP or Double-Check)
  • Create material quantity estimates of all flooring and related materials to fulfill all requirements of the
    flooring bid package (This position is not responsible for pricing material and labor)
  • Draft project-specific RFIs (Requests for Information) for review by sales, architects, or general
    contractors
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide suggestions to project teams
  • Review own work to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission to Sales Team
  • Complete estimates in a timely manner and in accordance with National Estimating Standard

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of commercial construction experience in estimating, project management, or related role
  • Knowledge of flooring products, installation methods, and correct applications
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

The Estimator will be responsible for reviewing structural drawings, preparing itemized material lists, and utilizing industry-specific software to provide accurate estimates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural steel drawings, be proficient in Bluebeam Revu, and possess exceptional attention to detail.

Job Details:

Work from home

Permanent Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday | 9 AM to 6 PM (Manila Time)

Training Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9 PM to 6 AM – For about 4 weeks

Responsibilities:

  • Review structural drawings and related contract documents to determine material requirements and prepare itemized lists.
  • Utilize BlueBeam to conduct efficient takeoffs, including:
  • Corrugated metal takeoff as SQ FT
  • Steel Joists / Trusses takeoff as # of PCS
  • Communicate with internal team members to clarify discrepancies or questions in contract documents, ensuring accurate estimates.
  • Prepare a comprehensive scope of work documents, including all exclusions, clarifications, and conditions.
  • Maintain a detailed record of all bid documents, noting the dates used in the preparation of the estimate.
  • Input material takeoffs into design and pricing software to generate sales proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu (any version).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role as an Estimator.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to fill in the gaps or make assumptions as needed.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Sr. OSP Design Engineer

Position Summary:

Byers Engineering,
 a MasTec company, is seeking a full-time Sr. OSP Design Engineer in support of a large-scale telecommunications project for both OSP Fiber and Copper Networks. Position requires experience with outside plant in aerial, buried and/or underground facilities. The OSP Engineer must work cohesively with the Field PM.

Job Details:

    Responsibilities:

    • Receive field data collected, analyze local and wide area network systems, and provide fiber route design in accordance with customer specifications and guidelines.
    • Read and understand highway/road prints, utility maps, and as-builts to identify conflicts with existing facilities.
    • Collaborate with any necessary vendor, as well as internal GIS and CAD teams to produce all required documentation for application packages.
    • Follow very specific and detailed procedures already implemented while remaining flexible enough to readily adapt to changing standards and procedures without notice.
    • Coordinate with project team for forecasting, scheduling, resources management, and quality assurance.
    • Review project deliverables for accuracy and apprise project management team of risks, issues, and recommended mitigations.
    • Work in tandem with various managers across the project to identify scope creep, manage to change orders, and complete routine billing.
    • Ensures the integrity of the customer access network is maintained and provides support for the deployment of access technologies.
    • Assist with as-built package completion and delivery as well as billing closeout.

    Qualifications:

    • Sound OSP engineering experience deploying fiber optic and Copper networks - Knowledge of engineering principles within OSP job related functional area including general practices, procedures and industry standards.
    • Knowledge of fiber optic and copper counts, fiber assignments, and splicing schematics on all OSP environments.
    • Knowledge of engineering tools including AutoCAD, OCalc, 3-GIS,or any similar GIS/KMZ platforms.
    • Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Google Sheets and Google Drive.
    • Possess STRONG communication & PEOPLE skills
    • Strong language skills are required, both oral & written
    • Show a “sense of urgency” to get the job done to meet all due dates
    • Follow-up with our customer and provide a status of any and all assigned work
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels: from team members to executive management.
    • Experience with ARAMIS, IQGEO, NDS, OCALC, and AutoCAD is preferred.
