What To Watch on Netflix This Halloween Season
October 27, 2022
It’s almost a tradition for Filipinos to commemorate the end of October with thriller films as we prepare to get into the Halloween mood. While the rest of the country is already setting Christmas lights and trees, online streaming platforms have you covered for the spooky season. So with the upcoming long weekend – #WalangPasok! – as we close this month, enjoy these films at your disposal.
We know our FitCrew’s always busy. To help you save time from endlessly scrolling through Netflix, check out our top picks for you!
Feng Shui
Feng Shui is a classic Filipino horror film that wound up millions of viewers in 2004 and cemented its place as one of the best horror films in the country as the highest-grossing film of that year. The film follows the story of Joy, played by Kris Aquino, who bought an antique mirror for good luck, not knowing its origin and all the misfortune it brings. You can watch this story unfold in its recently remastered version on the platform.
Parasite
If you’re looking for a too-real thriller film, then this is the movie for you. Parasite is a critically acclaimed Korean film by Bong Joon-ho that received a standing ovation during the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. The film focuses on two completely different families striving and struggling in the circle of life. From the commendable production and storyline, expect a daunting feeling after you watch this film.
Monster House
For the kids… and young at heart, Monster House is an animated mystery and thriller film released in 2006 where three best-friends got a little too curious about a strange house in their neighborhood. The trio explored enough for them to learn that the said house has a spirit of its own and has an appetite for living things.
Carrie
As a shy and quiet student, Carrie does not actively interact with anyone at school. Unusual incidents started happening with her when she first got her period. One day, Carrie develops supernatural powers and loses control of it. This fourth edition of the Stephen King novel is available on Netflix.
We have had our fair share of scrolling for hours on streaming platforms, not knowing what to watch, so we are happy to share our suggested films to watch on Netflix! You can invite your friends to a virtual watch party via Scener or Teleparty.
